Aims & Objectives

This qualification ensures you are up to date with the latest industry regulations on wiring and the safe use and operation of electrical equipment and systems. It covers the 18th Edition of the IET Wiring Regulations, which came into force in June 2018 and is recognised by the British Standards Institute as a British Standard (BS 7671).

If you are a practising electrician, you must comply with these regulations for electrical work. Requirements

Candidates need a copy of the IET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition (BS 7671:2018, 2022) and a non-programmable calculator. The assessment is open book, and the permitted reference material may contain bookmarks, highlighting and short cross-referencing notation only. It must not contain sample exam questions, answers, diagrams, or any detailed notation that could advantage the candidate. If there is any doubt over the suitability of a copy, a clean copy of the regulations should be used.
