Aims & Objectives

This course is for senior people with an eye on valuable business benefits. Health and safety is not just a legal requirement, it is integral to many of today's successful companies. The course helps you shape your health and safety objectives and identify the steps to achieve them, understanding good practice from around the globe and benchmarking your performance against others.

Done well, this can reward your company with reduced accident rates and sick leave, increased profit, an improved reputation with suppliers and clients, and reduced insurance premiums and legal costs.

Requirements

No prior health and safety qualifications are required. Learners access a diagnostic tool via a mobile phone app during the course.

Health & Safety Leadership

• Health and safety and what it means for different leadership roles
• The leader's responsibilities and behaviours
• What effective health and safety leadership looks like

Driving Improvement

• How to get things right
• How leaders can make improvements
• The benefits of health and safety leadership

Assessment

• Learners use a diagnostic tool, accessed via a mobile phone app, to identify their current health and safety position against a set of critical questions
• The tool recommends the actions they should take
• At the end of the course, learners commit to a personal action plan to improve their own and their organisation's health and safety management

Notes

Comprehensive notes will be given to all students who attend the course, along with an app to access their diagnostic tool and action planner, and access to a Safety Leadership community featuring news from IOSH and up to date discussions on safety leadership themes by trainers and delegates.

Certification

On completion of training delegates will be issued with a certificate of attendance, which will be valid for three years.
