Rescue of Suspended Casualty at Height

This height rescue training course provides learners with the practical skills necessary to safely recover a suspended casualty following a fall.

Techniques include remote rescue with telescopic reach pole, assisted abseil rescue and assisted rescue from ladders. 

Practical training can be carried out using a range of proprietary height rescue systems.

  • Students should be physically fit

  • Pre-use inspection of fall protection & height rescue equipment
  • Fit and adjust fall protection equipment
  • Planning for height rescue
  • Communications
  • Safe climbing techiques
  • Establishing a work position
  • Improvising anchor points
  • Evacuating a casualty by lifting and lowering
  • Remote evacuation of a casualty
  • Assess and manage a casualty including symptoms of orthostatic intolerance
  • Reporting procedures
  • Practical & written assessment
Notes Comprehensive notes will be given to all Students who attend the course.
Certification On satisfactory completion of the course a certificate of competence will be issued that will be valid for three years.
