Working at Height Assessor Training

A half-day course for managers, supervisors and those tasked with assessing individuals who work at height. (Please note: this is not a train-the-trainer course.)

Aims & Objectives

This course is specifically designed for managers, supervisors and those tasked by their company with assessing individuals working at height. It gives delegates the knowledge to identify hazards, evaluate control measures and assess whether work at height is being carried out safely and in line with the Work at Height Regulations 2005. Please note this is not a train-the-trainer course.

Requirements

No prior experience is required. This is an assessor course, not a train-the-trainer course.

Legislation & Responsibilities

  • The Work at Height Regulations 2005

Assessing the Risk

  • Hazard identification and risk assessment
  • The hierarchy of control measures
  • Establishing safe systems of work

Equipment

  • The selection and use of work at height equipment
  • Inspection and maintenance requirements

Assessment

  • Multiple-choice question paper

Notes

Comprehensive notes will be given to all students who attend the course.

Certification

On satisfactory completion of the course a certificate of competence will be issued that will be valid for three years.
