Fall Arrest Systems for Portable Ladders

The Work at Height Regulations require that portable leaning ladders are secured against slipping.

The revised INDG455 'Safe use of ladders and stepladders - An employers guide' states that "on a ladder where you cannot maintain a handhold, other than for a brief period, other measures will be needed to prevent a fall or reduce the consequences of one".

The CSS Worksafe ladder safety system provides the means of complying with both of these requirements.

The ladder is secured from the ground, before climbing, ensuring user safety from the ground to the work position and back again.

The user is secured to a running line and rope grab whilst ascending and descending the ladder and at the work position minimising the distance and consequences of a fall, should one occur.

In the event of a fall the user is able to self-rescue, negating the need for complex rescue plans and rescources and ensuring lone worker safety.

The ladder safety system is safe and easy to use with any timber, aluminium or glass reinforced ladder and pole combination.
